Message from the Head of Department
Welcome to the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at Ashokrao Mane Group of Institutions.
The department was established in 2009 with an undergraduate intake of 60 students. The postgraduate program was introduced in 2014 with an intake capacity of 24 students. Since its inception, the department has been committed to developing highly qualified, motivated, innovative and socially responsible engineers.
Under the autonomous academic framework, the department offers a future-ready curriculum designed to provide flexibility, multidisciplinary exposure and advanced technical competence. Along with the regular B.Tech. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, the department offers a B.Tech. (Honours) Degree in Computer Vision and multidisciplinary minor programs in Internet of Things (IoT) and Embedded Systems. These additional academic pathways enable students to strengthen their expertise in emerging technologies and enhance their career opportunities in core engineering, software, automation, robotics, artificial intelligence and Industry 4.0 domains.
The vision of the department is to produce competent engineers with strong technical knowledge, practical skills, professional ethics and confidence to meet global technological challenges. This is achieved through quality teaching, in-depth theoretical learning, hands-on laboratory training, project-based activities, industry interaction and continuous mentoring.
Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering is a rapidly advancing field that contributes significantly to communication systems, embedded systems, VLSI, IoT, robotics, automation, artificial intelligence, signal processing, wireless technologies and smart technologies. To support learning in these areas, the department is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, six undergraduate laboratories and two postgraduate laboratories.
Our highly qualified, dedicated and experienced faculty members adopt student-centric teaching-learning methods using modern teaching aids, digital tools, practical demonstrations and innovative pedagogy. In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the department focuses on multidisciplinary learning, skill development, experiential education, innovation, entrepreneurship and outcome-based education.
The department provides exposure beyond the regular curriculum through workshops, seminars, industrial visits, internships, technical competitions, hackathons and value-added programs. The LabVIEW Academy, authorized by National Instruments, USA, the Advanced Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Lab supported by PHN Technology Pvt. Ltd., Pune, the Virtual Instrumentation Centre of Excellence with Kimaya Automation Pvt. Ltd., Pune and E-Yantra Embedded Systems and Robotics Lab supported by IIT Bombay further strengthen practical and research-oriented learning.
I am confident that our faculty and students will continue to uphold the credibility of the department through excellence, responsibility and professional competence.
